OV-LXN901014 - Overland - Expansion module - CompactPCI - Fibre Channel FC OPTION FOR LXN SCSI TO FIBER BRGThe Virtual Interface Option (VIA) FCO (Fiber Channel Option) card is a Fiber Channel (FC)-to-Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) bridge that enables connectivity between Overland Neo series libraries and fiber channel-based storage area networks (SANs). The card supports both Fabric and Private/Public Loops. Fiber Channel media matching is made simple through the use of industry-standard Small Form-Factor Pluggable transceiver modules known as "SFP"s. The FCO card was designed to fit into one of the Virtual Interface Architecture (V.I.A.) bays built into all Overland Neo series providing a simple seamless way to attach or share your Neo series library. V.I.A.'s new level of integration simplifies your SAN attachment. The host Neo series library supplies power and cooling for the FCO by means of the V.I.A. bay. With up to 160 MB/second sustained transfer rate the V.I.A. FCO card meets the performance demands of today's 1 Gbit SAN infrastructure. Conversion to tomorrow's 2 Gbit SAN is transparent. The V.I.A. FCO's electronics is 2 Gbit-ready now. Dual independent back-end LVD auto-throttling SCSI busses capable of running from 20 to 160 MB/second data rates insure pipe capacity and compatibility for current and future tape technology. Ready and waiting for your most demanding server-free backup applications, the V.I.A. FCO card will unleash the ability to keep up to 9 concurrent Extended (3rd party) Copy operations running. With V.I.A. FCO cards simple massive data movement across the SAN is now a reality. SAN Management Made Simple Remote management for the V.I.A. FCO can be achieved in band over the Fiber Channel or out of band over the 10/100BaseT Ethernet port. The FCO supports the Fiber alliance V2.2 MIB standard. The Ethernet port may also be used to send SNMP trap information to the monitoring host system regarding status on power, temperature and Fiber Channel link status.
